Please join us in extending a warm welcome to Niko Markakis who joined the AM&E program as Coordinator in July 2022. Niko brings a wonderful combination of artistic and administrative experience to the program.
Niko holds both BFA and MFA degrees in Dance from York University and
continues to contribute to the School of Arts, Media Performance & Design as a contract faculty member in the Department of Dance.
In addition to his artistic practice, Niko has been the Dance Director at Cretans’ Association of Toronto ‘Knossos’ and Managing Producer at Proartedanza Performance Inc., he also has multiple years of administrative experience at York, most recently in the Liberal Arts and Professional Studies faculty in the petitions area.
His creative practice and administrative experience made him a wonderful choice to take on the challenges of the coordinator’s role and the more challenging transition from a long-term incumbent—We couldn’t be luckier and happier that such an outstanding candidate was available to take the reins—Welcome Niko!
